A bad night on the roads

Blog and Journal

Tonight the conditions were perfect for a bad night on the roads. Below Freezing, Snow and Ice on the roads, and the salters were late getting out on the roads. I was sitting here at the computer, looking out the window, watching cars slide up the off ramp from the 190. I knew it was just a matter of time until I heard some MVC (or MVA) calls on the Radio. Well, it was just as I was mentioning this fact to my friend, when I heard a crash and my lights flickered. I looked outside to see a vehicle had just hit a light pole on the corner. I quickly rushed out to see if everyone was alright. Luckily the driver was alright. And I drove my car up to protect the scene, and keep him warm while we waited for Police. The Fire Department and Hydro arrived as well. Once his tow truck came I drove him home, and he was thankful. Sadly I didn't have my cell phone on me, and whenever I tried to wave down a passing car, no one stopped for me. It was finally a private snow plow driver who stopped to call it in to 911. This is what I enjoy doing. Helping people out. Anyhow everyone, drive safe out there. And if you see someone who looks like they truly need help, they just might really need help. So stop and help them. Be a good neighbor.
