RaRa Hamfest 2013!

This past weekend I headed out to Rochester to take part in the annual Rochester Amateur Radio Club hamfest.  This year, like last year it was held at R.I.T.  We arrived right as the doors were opening and aside from a little confusion at the parking lot entrance, the parking experience was actually much better then last year.  That being said, last year I didn't experience the parking issue, as we made a bit of a navigational error and ended up bypassing the line to get in by driving between some buildings and over a sidewalk to get into the vendor parking area.  But I had heard (and seen) that it was horrible last year.

Right away I found a great deal.  I bought a Whelen Liberty Edge light bar for a steal.  Mind you, it is Red and Blue, but it is fully functioning.  I hope to eventually resell it.  I also picked up a Federal Signal Smart Siren (SS2000-LMS) for an amazing deal.  I will likely be using that in my vehicle.  But I will have to figure out how to disable the siren portion.

Trying out the Liberty Edge bar on my crown vic for the lulz.

I did meet some interesting people and had a great time.  Everyone else seemed to be having a great time as well.  This inspired me to work on my vehicle lighting some more, so I may be purchasing some more lights (like I can really afford that, ha).
